woww this is so cool! i haven’t been on tumblr for days but just got this msg through email! haha anyways YAY i’m so happy you’re interested in auditioning for song! it definitely was one of the best experiences i had in high school, and it can get pretty time consuming but i think it was really worth it! :) it has been almost 3 years since i graduated so things might have changed a lot and i don’t think i really know any current member on the team besides the captain katie hull (she was a freshman when i was senior and captain… i feel so old lol) i don’t know what type of audition pieces they teach anymore, but i think it would really help if you have some jazz or ballet background. i think they still compete in the intermediate division, so the competition routine will probably consist of dance techniques such as double pirouettes, leaps, second turns, axels, kicklines, double toe touches, etc. so if you could do those tricks that will greatly help and the audition routine will probably have at least some of those tricks. BUT don’t get discouraged if you couldn’t do those because they are always willing to take beginner dancers and train you if they see potential in you :) either way it’s super fun and will be a good experience so i highly recommend you go to the tryouts! some people may seem intimidating but don’t get too scared! lol sorry i wrote you like an essay but hope it helped and feel free to ask me more questions and good luck! :)
i am so blessed that i have met a group of people who always make me happy :)
